1942 December 22, ATTACK ON GERMAN SOLDIERS (Cracow)
Led by Dolek Liebeskind, the Pioneering Jewish Youth (HeHalutz HaLohem) and the P.P.R (Polish Workers Party) attacked simultaneously various cafes frequented by the Germans. The group whose leaders also included Zvi Hersh Bauminger and Avraham Leibovich , had previously attacked German supplies in the area. At the Cyganeria café, they killed at least seven German officers and wounded many more. It served as a model for many other ghetto resistance movements. Liebeskind himself was killed in hand-to-hand combat when the Germans attacked his bunker on December 24, 1942. Before he died he succeeded in killing 2 German officers.
